ER eyes brownfields development By Chris Neidenberg The Leader (NJ) November 20, 2008EAST RUTHERFORD - In an effort to rejuvenate a sagging industrial area, the borough council has tentatively endorsed implementing a "brownfields" redevelopment plan covering at least 28 acres. The region would include part of Paterson Avenue and points south and west. At a Nov. 17 meeting, Mayor James Cassella and the council supported Councilman Edward Ravettine's idea to invite an official from the state Department of Environmental Protection to discuss the merits of the state's Brownfields Development Area Initiative.
