Newark brownfield could become bright field Solar panels might come to Newark Processing site By KENT MALLETT Newark Advocate (OH) January 13, 2009NEWARK - City officials hope a new company’s name sums up the improvements headed to the former Newark Processing aluminum recycling site on East Main Street. Blight to Bright, LLC, plans to construct a solar-powered energy generation facility on 10 acres of the 66-acre brownfield site between East Main Street and the Licking River. The land, which has sat idle since Newark Processing went bankrupt in 1997, was improved last year with a $2.3 million riverbank stabilization project. ...
