Planners consider sites for 'Calamityville' facilty Cement plant's existing silos and tunnels are perfect for disaster training center, planners say. By Christopher Magan Dayton Daily News January 25, 2009 FAIRBORN - Wright State University doctors are confident about where they want to build a multimillion-dollar disaster training facility, but a Riverside official is confident he can offer a better deal. The idea for Calamityville, a training ground for first responders proposed for a brownfield in Fairborn, was partly born at the Riverside fire department, said Riverside City Manager Bryan Chodkowski. The first site proposed for the project was the Dinas property in the northwest part of Riverside - a former gravel quarry transformed into a landfill of debris from Xenia after the tornado of 1974. ...
