State employees won't move soon NEAL P. GOSWAMI Bennington Banner (VT) March 18, 2009BENNINGTON — Local state employees will remain in modular office space for at least another year, according to a state official. "At least another year is the way I have to leave it at this point," said Buildings and General Services Commissioner Gerry Myers. ...State employees were moved from the existing state office complex in 2007 into the modular units on the same grounds. The state learned in June 2006 that at least six past and present employees had developed the rare disease sarcoidosis. Many other employees had complained of asthma and other respiratory ailments. ...Trichloroethylene, or TCE, was found by the state during an environmental assessment. The building is currently undergoing further assessments to determine if it is safe for state workers. ...
