Tri-state Auto site gets grant By CHRIS GAROFOLO Brattleboro Reformer (VT) April 13, 2009BRATTLEBORO -- A brownfield site in downtown Brattleboro has received $15,000 from an initiative program, according to Gov. James Douglas on Thursday. The grant funds comes as part of the Brownfield Reuse Initiative Program to help revitalize former industrial and commercial properties around the state. In Brattleboro, the money will go toward assessment work at the former TriState Auto building located on the New England Youth Theatre campus on the corner of Flat and Elm streets. The building is projected to be the future home of Fulcrum Arts, as part of a plan to renovate the former automotive machine shop into an arts facility. Last July, the project (which won the 2007 Brattleboro Development Credit Corp. business plan contest) was awarded $190,000 in tax credits. ....
