Catskill Confidential: Cappelli downplays loss of brownfields suit Middletown Times Herald-Record (NY) April 21, 2009Concord owner Louis Cappelli recently lost a court challenge to expand the brownfield cleanup areas at the site of his planned $1 billion Entertainment City project. Cappelli's Concord Associates has been trying for two years to get an additional 20.57 acres included in the brownfield program, which provides tax incentives for cleaning up and then investing in areas with environmental hazards. On March 31, Judge Burton Ledina sided with the Department of Environmental Conservation to deny Cappelli's request to add acres to his brownfields. He already has 14.53 acres enrolled, qualifying him for millions in tax breaks. ...
