SF Fire Department Using Schlage Property for Rescue and High-Rise TrainingBrownfield Partners Donates Use of Site; Every Company in Fire Department Participates in Hands-On Training BUSINESS WIRE June 11, 2009SAN FRANCISCO--With demolition continuing at the former Schlage Lock property in San Francisco, Brownfield Partners, the Denver-based urban in-fill developer and transaction partner managing the clean-up, has donated the use of the property to the San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) for training exercises. For over two months, the blighted site near U.S. 101 and Candlestick Park has been used for SFFD's intense rescue, evacuation and high-rise drills. The property is the only facility within San Francisco's city limits currently suitable for SFFD's hands-on rescue and high-rise training. When the demolition is finished, every Fire company will have completed training on the site; with over 425 firefighters participating in drills. "Our ability to constantly train and educate our firefighters means we are better able to serve San Francisco's residents, workers and visitors," said Chief of Department Joanne Hayes-White at an on-site demonstration today. "This hands-on training opportunity would not have been possible without Brownfield Partners' very generous donation." ...
