Harbor Shores golf course opponents to fight on Plaintiffs to appeal dismissal of suit against development. By SHERRY VAN ARSDALL South Bend Tribune, Michigan January 20, 2010BENTON HARBOR -- Park preservationists against Harbor Shores' golf course aren't giving up. In a response Tuesday, the opponents to the development said they have decided to appeal the decision to dismiss their lawsuit to block conversion of a portion of the parkland for the privately owned golf course in and near Jean Klock Park. ...Since the $500 million Harbor Shores development was announced in 2007, a handful of residents has been fighting plans to use the public, city-owned Jean Klock Park for part of the Jack Nicklaus golf course.A critical concern is the trade of dune views for 38 acres of environmentally contaminated, former industrial land, Terry Lodge, attorney for the plaintiffs, said. ...
