Land prepared for possible development

Workers have begun to clear land for the potential construction of a 
lithium ion battery components manufacturing plant in Battle Creek.

Doug Voshell, Battle Creek Unlimited's marketing director, said today 
the manufacturer has not signed a formal sales agreement for the land. 
However, the city is moving ahead with plans to remove harmful metals, 
old pavement and abandoned underground equipment in keeping with its 
brownfield redevelopment agreement.
