ENVIRONMENT: Harrison Place to be studied Staff Reports Lockport Union-Sun & Journal (NY) February 15, 2010Environmental testing will be done at Harrison Place this year, the state Department of Environmental Conservation has announced. The Harrison Place complex, formerly home of the Harrison Radiator main plant, is considered a brownfield. It is being investigated to determine if contamination exists that could impede re-use. To complete a "site characterization," the DEC will commission activities including: collecting and analyzing soil samples beneath concrete floors of manufacturing buildings; installing groundwater monitoring wells; and analyzing water samples. ...
