Crews testing old dump site in Gibson By Jeffery Smith Corning Leader (NY) February 18, 2010Gibson - Work is under way to identify possible hazardous chemicals at an old dump site in the hamlet of Gibson. Corning Town Supervisor Peter Marchese said soil and ground water samples are currently being taken by EA Engineering, Science and Technology crews at the two-acre parcel. "The boring samples are expected to be completed late this week or early next week," Marchese said. The samples are the second-phase of preliminary work that could lead to a cleanup of the old dump. ...
