EPA returns for more testing at Lake, Lathrop By CHRIS LAFORTUNE Forest Leaves (IL) February 23, 2010The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is taking additional air sample testing from Lake Street and Lathrop Avenue. The EPA planned to do testing of buildings on the 7600 block of Lake Street, as well as buildings adjacent to the block, on Feb. 18, said EPA On-Scene Coordinator Brad Benning, who works in the emergency response wing of the EPA's superfund group in its Great Lakes office. Soil under the 7600 block of Lake Street is contaminated by perchloroethylene, commonly used by dry cleaners.
