Raritan River cleanup lawsuit rejected by federal court By SUSAN LOYER My Central Jersey June 1, 2010A lawsuit filed in federal court last year by area environmental agencies in connection with the cleanup of a 440-acre former industrial site on the banks of the Raritan River was dismissed last week. The suit, filed last year by Edison Wetlands Association and NY/NJ Baykeeper, in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, charged that several parties violated the Federal Clean Water Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. The 11 plaintiffs in the suit included NL Industries of Dallas, Middlesex County, the state Department of Transportation, the Sayreville Economic and Redevelopment Agency (SERA) and O'Neill Properties Group of King of Prussia, Pa. ...
