More testing wanted at Tract II site Group wants DEC to address residents' concerns. By Mark Scheer Niagara Gazette (NY) June 18, 2010LEWISTON - A group working on an ongoing planning project in the Highland Avenue community is calling on state officials to seriously consider additional environmental testing in the area near a high-profile brownfield site. People & Possibilities Inc., an organization that has been working with residents to discuss north end redevelopment plans for several months, issued a report arguing that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation would be wise to perform additional tests near the Tract II brownfield site to determine if there is any validity to residents' concerns about possible off-site migration of potentially hazardous material. ...
