Cleanup to begin at Beacon brownfield site Michael Woyton Poughkeepsie Journal (NY) August 4, 2010BEACON - Cleanup will soon begin at the Long Dock brownfield site that will eventually become a park. Long Dock project director Margery Groten of Scenic Hudson, the nonprofit organization that owns the property, said the park was officially closed to the public Monday. "We are about to embark on the construction of a park that will include totally rehabilitated wetlands, new paths, benches and all the amenities that go with that," she said. Other features will include a new pavilion, a kayaking center and a restored barn. ...
