Cleanup completed at Kingston Brownfield site Mid-Hudson News (NY) September 5, 2010KINGSTON - Remediation has been completed to address contamination at the Utility Platers/Kingston Diagnostics site at Washington Avenue and Schwenk Drive in the City of Kingston. Northeast Retail Leasing and Management Company LLC has completed the work and submitted a final engineering report for approval with the state Department of Environmental Conservation. Remedial actions included removal of underground storage tanks and excavation and off-site disposal of grossly contaminated material. A site-wide cover system of clean soil, concrete and asphalt paving was constructed to prevent exposure to contamination remaining at the site. The cover was constructed during the redevelopment of the site as a CVS store, which opened in the summer of 2010. ...
