Emerson council opposes Paramus development BY DENISA R. SUPERVILLE The Record (NJ) September 22, 2010EMERSON - The Borough Council has adopted a resolution opposing a proposed residential development off Soldier Hill Road in Paramus, asking that the site be protected and preserved as open space. In approving the resolution, the borough joins neighboring Oradell in its formal opposition to the 140-unit residential complex on Soldier Hill Road, between Forest Avenue and Pascack Road, which is planned by Shamrock Creek LLC. The development has been the subject of legal wrangling for years. ...Environmentalists argue that the project will exacerbate flooding and taint the water supply.
