NT gets glimpse of waterfront plans

Old rusty storage tanks and abandoned patches of dirt dotting North 
Tonawanda's landscape might eventually be replaced by fountains, trees 
and charming storefronts before a picturesque riverfront if all goes as 
planned.

That's what most if not all former industrial waterfront towns have done 
or are trying to do throughout the nation's Rust Belt and North 
Tonawanda is no exception.

"This is about putting North Tonawanda on the map," Andrew Raus of city 
planning advisors Bergman Associates, said Wednesday at a public forum 
to discuss such plans.
