Brownfield to be used for new park in GoshenCity looks to build new park at empty lot after housing project falls through. Stephanie Stang WNDU TV-16 News (South Bend, IN) Nov 9, 2010A new park is in the works in Goshen. Originally houses were going to be built by LaCasa on an old factory lot. But those plans fell through, working out in the city's favor. There are ten empty acres on the north side of Goshen. The land was recently donated to LaCasa non-for-profit housing agency. Federal grant money was going to be used to clean-up the area to build 20 homes. But it was recently discovered though that the area is full of arsenic, lead and metals, and not safe for housing purposes. But city officials decided it could be cleaned up for a park. ...
