Ohio EPA, city of Cleveland reach agreement on cleanup plan for Midtown site By SCOTT SUTTELL Crain's Cleveland Business (OH) November 24, 2010The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the city of Cleveland have worked together to get a brownfield site in the city's Midtown neighborhood ready for commercial or industrial reuse. Ohio EPA officials said in a news release that the agency has issued a "covenant not to sue" to Cleveland for cleaning up a 0.75-acre site at East 55th Street and Euclid Avenue. The covenant not to sue completes the city's participation in the Ohio EPA's Voluntary Action Program, in which property owners take the initiative to identify and clean up on-site contamination. The vacant site once housed a variety of commercial operations, including a fixture company, lathe and machine company, and a tin and print shop, according to the Ohio EPA. ...
