Industrial site poised to take on new life following cleanup Niagara Gazette (NY) December 7, 2010NIAGARA FALLS - The demolition of a long-vacant building and ongoing cleanup of a North End brownfield on Tuesday was touted as the latest sign of Niagara Falls' green industry birth. The cleanup work at 1501 College Ave. is being completed to clear way for a new project by Green Tire Systems. Santarosa Holdings has received brownfield cleanup dollars from the federal government through the Niagara County Brownfield Development Corp. to finance a portion of the project. Santarosa will develop the land, in part, for use as a recycling center. Kicking off the planned land re-use will be a Green Tire Systems Facility that will manufacture carbon black and heavy oils through the recycling of tires. ...
