Subject: | [CPEO-BIF] Community Input on the Cleanup of the MEW-Moffett Regional Plume |
Community Input on the Cleanup of the MEW-Moffett Regional Plume (Please excuse duplicate postings.)The “Regional Plume” in Mountain View, California is nearly a half- mile wide and just under two miles long. U.S. EPA is conducting a Focused Feasibility Study to evaluate ways to accelerate groundwater remediation. On behalf of CPEO and its Community Advisory Board for the plume, consultant Peter Strauss has prepared a memo, “Community Criteria and Suggested Strategy,” that shows how informed, empowered communities can move the remediation process forward, and which lays out a strategy for accelerating cleanup at large, complex sites where complete, rapid aquifer restoration is difficult to achieve.
