Marietta council giving thought to cleanup appeal By SAM SHAWVER Marietta Times (OH) May 4, 2011MARIETTA - Members of Marietta's City Council are considering an appeal of a final permit modification, granted more than a week ago by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, for cleanup of the former Cytec Industries property on Greene Street. "My concern is that the OEPA decision is going to make a large area within the city of Marietta undevelopable," said Councilman Jon Grimm, R-3rd Ward, who chaired a meeting of council's planning, zoning, annexation and housing committee Monday afternoon. OEPA's approval of the permit modification falls short of requiring Cytec to bring the property up to Brownfield status - safe enough or future industrial development, as requested in a council letter to the agency last year ...
