Geothermal wells drilled in Brady District by SARA PLUMMER Tulsa World (OK) May 27, 2011A drilling rig is up and running in the Brady Arts District on the site of the planned Park on Brady, boring 120 holes for 500-foot-deep geothermal wells that will heat and help cool the Tulsa Paper Co. and Hardesty Arts Center. Construction of the geothermal field is funded by a $2.5 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Energy Demand Reduction grant and a $200,000 Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality Brownfield Development grant. The geothermal field is part of a larger $110.5 million investment in the Brady Arts and Greenwood districts, with $53.1 million coming from the George Kaiser Family Foundation and the remaining $57.4 million from various other sources. ...
