BLIGHT WATCH: Abandoned gas station cleanup cost $150,000 SETH SLABAUGH Muncie Star Press (IN) June 12, 2011MUNCIE -- The city, county and state last week completed the cleanup of another abandoned service station with leaking underground storage tanks. The Indiana Finance Authority's brownfield program budgeted $150,000 for the project at 817 E. Willard St., across the street from Midtown Church of Christ and adjacent to a residence. The site had been a gas station from the 1930s until the mid-1990s, said Brad Bookout, assistant director of business development for the city-county economic development alliance. It was last occupied by McKey's Union 76. ...
