Cotter Corp. continues its decommissioning of mill Rachel Alexander Cañon City Daily Record (CO) July 9, 2011Decommissioning of the old milling operation at Cotter, Corp. is continuing on the site south of Cañon City. "All of this stuff, even the vehicles, are chapped up and placed in the impoundment," Vice President of Milling Operations John Hamrick said. He said about half of the volume of the plant's buildings have been torn down, chopped up and buried in the impoundment. It will eventually be capped to keep the materials from escaping for 1,000 years. ...
