'Win-win' on Woodbridge waterfront Remediation starts at Keasbey Revelopment Site Written by Bob Makin My Central Jersey July 14, 2011WOODBRIDGE - The $50 million redevelopment of the waterfront in the Keasbey section of the township is a "win-win" for the local economy and environment, agreed a variety of players in the remediation of the former Nuodex property. The 185-acre toxic chemical site, the largest segment of the township’s Brownfield Development Area, has been closed nearly 30 years. But over the next four, two-thirds of it will be restored as wetlands, complete with a nature center, boardwalk trails and public access to the Raritan River from the township for the first time in more than 100 years, Mayor John E. McCormac said. A former state treasurer, the mayor was even more filled with glee about the property tax revenue and job boost the township will receive when a natural gas power plant sets up shot on the remaining acreage. ...
