EPA: Chemical levels 'concerning' in 10 Phoenix homes

Ten homes and apartments had "concerning" levels of a toxicant at the still-polluted Superfund site in east Phoenix, officials with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said this week, in correcting information it distributed previously.

The EPA officials said they had misreported in public handouts the number of affected homes.

"That should say that 10 residences showed TCE at or above the screening level (the low-risk range), as opposed to 15," said Leana Rosetti, an EPA community involvement coordinator.
