Cleanup resumes at Lancaster's old Ray-O-Vac site by Carl Burnett Jr. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette (OH) May 12, 2012LANCASTER -- Demolition has resumed this week on a brownfield site of a former battery plant on South Ewing Street. ...Once the plant site is cleaned up and environmentally safe for use, Pettit said the city's Port Authority wants create a small business park at the site with five lots and a street running through the middle of the business park. The site was a battery plant until 1982, then was used by Frick- Gallagher, which produced boxes, shelves and racks and at one time employed 115 people before it went out of business at the end of 2005. ...
