Strip mall brownfield remediation plan proposed Mid-Hudson News (NY) June 18, 2012CORNWALL - The State Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking public comment on a proposed brownfield remediation project at the Cornwall Plaza on Quaker Avenue in Cornwall. Study has found the property poses a significant threat to public health or the environment due to elevated concentrations of contaminants in groundwater and soil vapor. ...A sub-slab depressurization system would be installed to prevent migration of the vapors into buildings from groundwater. A site cover currently exists and will be maintained to allow for commercial use of the use. Public comment on the plan will be received at the DEC through August 1.
