Remediation planned at old Orangeburg pipe manufacturing site Mid-Hudson News (NY) July 16, 2012ORANGEBURG - A more than 16 acre parcel that was once a portion of the Orangeburg Pipe company property on Route 303 in Orangeburg is going to be remediated for environmental pollution under the state’s Brownfield Cleanup Program. The property, currently owned by FB Orangetown LLC c/o RD Management LLC of Manhattan and called Orangeburg Commons, has been determined to contain coal tar pitch volatiles and naphthalene. Pipe manufacturing began in the 1890s with that parcel reported to be used primarily for storage, but pipe not meeting specifications was also disposed of at the site. ...
