[CPEO-BIF] Minnesota Brownfields ReScape Awards

Minnesota Brownfields is soliciting applications for a new awards program to recognize exemplary brownfield redevelopment projects which have been completed throughout Minnesota.  Winning projects will feature transformation of abandoned or underutilized sites using innovative solutions to significant environmental issues.

Nominations
Nominations for redevelopment projects will be accepted until September 14 in these categories:

Economic Impact - Recognizing brownfield projects that serve as a model for sustainable redevelopment in building healthy, just, and competitive communities, by strengthening the economic vitality of neighborhoods and those that live and work in them through job creation or training, tax revenue growth, and/or the creation of new mixed-use development or housing, or other opportunities for prosperity.

Environmental Impact - Recognizing brownfield projects that serve as a model for sustainable redevelopment in creating healthy communities, and that demonstrate effective and innovate ways to reduce or eliminate environmental contaminant exposures and improve the quality of the natural environment including the addition of environmental benefits such as natural resource restoration.

Community Impact - Recognizing brownfield projects that serve as a model for sustainable redevelopment in creating healthy, vibrant communities, and that use innovative and effective place-based initiatives to engage and involve community members, particularly underrepresented communities (low-income, communities of color, immigrant communities, persons with disabilities) in participation, decision-making, and leadership roles throughout the cleanup and redevelopment process.
