Hollywood sees money in Brownfield site By Carli Teproff Miami Herald (FL) September 3, 2012 The view from the top of the hill is perfect: acres and acres of shrubs and trees. What=92s not visible is what=92s lurking in the ground: low-level contaminates left behind from what was once an ash dump. ... Last year the City Commission designated the nearly 31-acre site known as HIAD - Hollywood Incinerator Ash Dump - as a Brownfield site. The designation could allow the city to get federal and state dollars to help clean it up. The city believes the site, although it may have contamination, is prime for development. ...
