Endicott group reviews cleanup of IBM spill by Anthony Borrelli Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin (NY) September 27, 2012ENDICOTT - Contaminants that spilled underneath former IBM facility in Endicott have remained for decades, but the spill has lost some territory in recent years. Alex Czuhanich, the engineering geologist in the Division of Environmental Remediation for the state Department of Environmental Conservation, outlined the modestly shrunken size of the toxic plume during a meeting Thursday with several Endicott residents. "We've only shrunk the plume about 25 percent, but we've really knocked out much of the core contaminant," Czuhanich said. "We're getting more areas that meet the groundwater standards." ...
