Cleanup action begins on Pawling brownfield site Mid-Hudson News October 15, 2012PAWLING - Action will begin shortly to address the contamination at the Cornerstone Enterprises, Inc. site at 33 East Main Street in the Village of Pawling. The quarter acre site had been operated as an automotive maintenance facility and retail gas station until 1985. The property includes a 10,000 square foot building and two parking lots. A tributary to the East Branch of the Croton River borders the eastern side of the property and flows to the south. The property is zoned for commercial use and other properties in the immediate vicinity are used for commercial and residential purposes. St. John's Catholic Church rectory and meeting center are next to the site. ...
