TIME TO GET STARTED NEO Corp. gear arrives at site; city manager says work will ramp up By CHRIS TRAINOR Greenwood Index Journal (SC) November 13, 2012For so long, many residents of the historic Greenwood Mill Village looked upon the old mill site on Kitson Street with disdain. The site - with its unkempt rubble piles of jagged stone and wood, leaning smokestack, dilapidated vestiges of buildings and various other wreckage - has, for years, looked like a war-torn wasteland, unquestionably a blight amid an otherwise charming neighborhood. On Monday, at long last, work crews that will eventually clean up the rubble began to mobilize. Representatives of the NEO Corp., the company the city contracted to remove the rubble, arrived at the site Monday. NEO Corp. equipment was spotted on the site at midday, and a NEO sign was placed on the chain link fence surrounding the property.
