Clean Ohio promising quicker turnaround in revamped program by Brian R. Ball Columbus Business First (OH) March 7, 2013The Clean Ohio Council has streamlined its brownfield incentive programs even as it scaled back its annual funding to assess and remediate environmental hazards. But funding is expect to get moved out quicker to encourage redevelopment of sites with environmental issues. The program co- managed by the council, the Ohio Development Services Agency and JobsOhio will offer $15 million through an open cycle rather than competitive rounds used for the former Clean Ohio Assistance Fund and Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund programs that for the decade through 2011 offered about $55 million in combined annual funding. Development Services spokeswoman Stephanie Gostomski said the program will operate on rolling cycles to allow funding to get funneled to projects faster. ...
