Report recommends cleanup of brownfield site, says it is not a
significant threat
Mid-Hudson News (NY) March 10, 2013BEACON - A report to the state Department of Environmental Conservation says the Beacon Terminal site at 555 South Avenue in the City of Beacon poses no significant threat to public health or the environment, but recommends contamination on the site be remediated. The 11 acre property adjacent to Fishkill Creek is proposed for development as a residential condominium complex. Two buildings, which were constructed around 1878 as the Tioranda Hat Works, are slated to be restored as a residential condominium complex with limited commercial use.
