New Jersey Brownfield Slated for Major Commercial Solar Installation By GetSolar Staff September 10, 2013As numerous sites are identified for solar use throughout New Jersey, the state is preparing to auction off its Solar Renewable Energy Certificates. New Solar Installations in New JerseyAlready one of the top solar energy producing states in the country, New Jersey is poised to install even more solar capacity by taking advantage of otherwise-unusable land such as brownfields, landfills and old dumps. In New Jersey, there are thousands of acres of these sites to choose from. That is why Public Service Electric & Gas hired an outside consultant to narrow down the pack. While 22 sites were ultimately selected for their grid-supply solar potential, the Kinsley landfill site in Deptford Township was rated the highest. ...
