Wausau starts clearing east-side riverfront Project covers vacant site between Eye Clinic and Bridge Street by Theresa Clift Wausau Daily Herald (WI) October 14, 2013WAUSAU - Construction and cleanup started Monday on a stretch of east- side riverfront property that Wausau city leaders hope will attract redevelopment. The area includes seven acres between the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin and Bridge Street, including the former homes of Cloverbelt Cooperative Services and Hammerblow Corp. As part of the improvements, the city will remove an underground storm sewer and return the spot to a natural creek, and crews will extend First Street about 300 feet over the creek.
