Area study recommends moving Cohoes DPW, creating park By Danielle Sanzone, Troy Record (NY) October 21, 2013 At a meeting tonight, the common council plans to accept the 2013 Cohoes Boulevard Brownfield Opportunity Area Study to make it part of the community’s comprehensive plan. Two of the possible plans in the study include relocating the city’s Department of Public Works and creating a park in St. Joseph’s Place, which would ideally help connect The Venue at St. Joseph’s and the Ravens Head Brewery with downtown. The study, funded by the state, looked at areas around Route 787 including about 30 residences, some of downtown, and two large businesses - Mohawk Paper and Norlite.
