North Shore tax deal in Canandaigua gets Ontario County's OK By Megan Brandow Canandaigua Daily Messenger (NY) April 18. 2014CANANDAIGUA - With a vote of support from the county Thursday, the developers of the North Shore project on Canandaigua Lake will receive an $11 million tax deal.
...The $11 million PIF granted to developer Morgan-LeChase by the Ontario County Industrial Development Agency (OCIDA) will be used to construct building foundations at the troubled site, which will undergo an environmental cleanup through the Brownfield program beginning this summer.
The work is needed due to the state of the ground, which is contaminated from the land's past usage as a landfill and is not able to be used while designated as a Brownfield site. Developers say without the financial relief from the PIF, the project would not come to fruition.
