The future of old Keyser High Public meetings to be held to determine
building’s use
By Elaine Blaisdell Cumberland Times-News May 30, 2014KEYSER, W.Va. - Patrick Kirby, director of the Northern West Virginia Brownfields Assistance Center, presented the city of Keyser with a $2,000 check during the city council meeting Wednesday. The money will go toward hearings in which the public will be asked to come up with suggestions for the former Keyser High School, according to Mayor Randy Amtower. "The money will help to orchestrate public meetings to reimagine the old Keyser High School (Grand Central Business Center) on Grand Central Drive. It’s something we want the community involved in," said Amtower. "We have decided that doing nothing with the property has a negative impact on the entire county, not just Keyser." Amtower stressed the importance of the community's vision for the building as opposed to just the city and Potomac State College. Prior to the council meeting, Amtower met with Leonard Colelli, president of PSC, to discuss the former high school. ...
