|Subject:||[CPEO-BIF] "Pompton Lakes' [New Jersey] school safe" from TCE vapors|
Pompton Lakes' school safe from contamination By Leslie Scott Suburban Trends (NJ) June 12, 2014The second test for trichloroethylene (TCE) vapors performed under the subslab of the art room at the Lakeside School remained below any level of concern.
In response to concerns from the community, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tested Lakeside School and the Board of Education office building for carcinogenic vapors.
This test was performed at these two educational properties because they are located near the area of contamination in the borough known as the Plume.
Results from the first test performed in December detected TCE concentrations levels at 10 ug/m3 (micrograms per cubic meter), which is below the screening level of concern (27 ug/m3 and above).
