Brownfield plan for redevelopment at Stadium Drive and Drake Road  
OK'd by Oshtemo Township board

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI -- A brownfield plan for the Corner at Drake  
development at Drake and Stadium will go to the county board for  
approval now that it has been approved by the Kalamazoo County  
Brownfield Authority and by the Oshtemo Township Board of Trustees.

The township board unanimously approved the plan Tuesday, Oct. 14  
with the amendment that $1.3 million, listed in the plan as an  
estimate of funds captured, be used as a maximum amount that can be  
captured. Kalamazoo County Brownfield Authority Chair Joe Agostinelli  
said the amendment was reasonable and he was confident his board,  
which previously approved the plan, would support it.

The Corner at Drake brownfield plan calls for developer Joe Gesmundo  
to receive about $373,000 in reimbursement for demolition, lead and  
asbestos abatement that was necessary to make the site buildable.
