Relocation complete By Jack Molitor Anderson Herald Bulletin (IN) October 17, 2014ANDERSON - Anchored to the memory of General Motors for so long, Anderson took an important step toward changing its identity on Friday, according to city and business leaders. Myers and Ford Autoworld, after more than 50 years of operation on the city’s north side, completed a relocation to South Scatterfield Road near 32nd Street. Friday marked the grand opening of the new dealership site occupying about six acres of the former GM Plant 11 site. Dealership President Mary Jamerson called the move a great milestone for her company and the community, and introduced her sales and service team as the lifeblood of her company. The $7.5 million, 48,000-square-foot facility is the first significant new development on a brownfield site in the city. Brownfields are designated properties where redevelopment, reuse or expansion is hampered by the nature of the site’s previous purpose, which could have polluted the ground with hazardous substances or contaminants. ...
