Hudson Valley Lighting will not build $16 million facility in Newburgh By Leonard Sparks Middletown Times Herald-Record (NY) February 24. 2015CITY OF NEWBURGH – Hudson Valley Lighting is aborting its two-year- old plan to build a $16 million facility on a contaminated former landfill in the City of Newburgh, putting the end to a project that had drawn federal and state grants and promised to keep jobs in the city. Owner David Littman and Newburgh officials confirmed Monday the high- end lighting company’s decision to abandon plans for the state- designated Brownfield site. As part of the Brownfield program, HVL stood to reap millions worth of tax credits for restoring the property to commercial use. ...
