Brownfield bill could put Oregon cities in the land bank biz by Wendy Culverwell Portland Business Journal (OR) Jun 5, 2015 The Oregon House has signed off on new legislation that would help local governments clean up contaminated sites such as old gas stations, dry cleaners , factories and more. House Bill 2734, now headed to the Senate, would let local governments create land banks to facilitate cleanup of contaminated sites across Oregon. The Oregon Brownfields Coalition estimates more than 13,000 such sites blight rural and urban areas alike.
