EPA to monitor groundwater around schools in Byram By DAVID DANZIS New Jersey Herald August 24, 2015 BYRAM -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will install groundwater monitoring wells on and around the properties of the township's schools as a precautionary measure to ensure the water is not contaminated. During a special meeting Monday at the Byram Intermediate School, the township Board of Education approved an agreement to allow the federal agency to install monitoring wells and take water samples from school property to be analyzed for possible contamination. ... Garcia also said that the EPA and the state conducted vapor intrusion tests in 2007 and 2012 at the schools to determine if chemicals had migrated from the initial Mansfield Trail Dump site.
