Greenwood moving ahead with brownfield cleanup By Bill Poovey GSA Business September 9, 2015 Greenwood, an Upstate city rooted in textiles, is sentimental about its mill town and railroad heritage. Reminders of those economic engines and lifestyles are part of a downtown revitalization that community leaders want to enhance by developing a brownfield site on the edge of town. As City Manager Charlie Barrineau walks in Uptown Greenwood past construction of a farmers market project designed like a rail depot, he points at storefront renovations, vacant offices converted to condominiums and the new Good Times Brewing at the Mill House restaurant.
